Introduction to Bath Salts

Basic ingredients to all bath salts are as follows:

3 parts Epsom Salts

2 parts Baking Soda

1 part Table Salt (or Borax)

Mix ingredients thoroughly in a bowl.  This is the base from which you can create a wide variety of bath salts.  This will also enable you to make up large quantities, unless you want to make 2 or three different types from the mixture.  In that case, just divide the base mixture up accordingly.

It is wise to add the power of color to your bath salts.  You can accomplish this by adding food coloring to the base, drop by drop.  If you need to achieve a color in addition to the basic food coloring, then mix the coloring in a spoon prior to adding it to the bath salt.  This will avoid having a two-toned salt.  Fewer drops of a color/hue achieve lighter shades, more, darker.

Now to fragrance your salts add essential oils drop by drop until the scent seems right to you, mixing with a spoon until all of the particles are moistened.  Make sure you keep your magical goal in mind while you stir. Then empower the mixture with a ritual (one is listed in the Grove Book of Shadows section).

To use the salts in your bath, add anywhere from 2 tablespoons to ½ cup of the ritual bath salts to a full tub of water.  Then mix into the water with your hands and feel their energies merge with the water.

While sitting in the tub, feel the power, letting it soak into you.  Another method to use is to release specific negative emotions/energies into the water.

As soon as you are done with your bath, make sure you clean your tub with either a commercial cleaner or perhaps a damp cloth and baking soda.  Do this even before the bath if needed.  Ritual baths taken in unclean bathtubs (beside the fact that it is unsanitary) probably will not have the desired effect.

Ok, now that you have the basics down; let’s make some bath salts!!!!
