Make your own TN using leather from an old jacket or handbag. Save money and get crafty!
What you'll need:
- Leather or whatever you'd like to use
- Sewing machine with leather needle (you can also see by hand)
- Double sided tape
- Leather/belt hole punch
Choose your size and measure out your leather by adding a centimetre to the top and bottom and 3 to 4cm to the width, depending on how wide you'd like it. I'm making an A7 wide with a reinforced spine of 1.5cm. I also added a pocket to both sides.
I used a small amount of tape to hold the spine in place and bulldog clips to hold the pockets in place for sewing. See the spine on the long edges first.
Then sew all the way around.
Using the hole punch put a hole in the centre of the spine and 3 holes in the top and bottom of the spine. Thread the elastic up and down, similar to a figure 8 with an extra loop, through the holes in the top and bottom. Then thread another piece of elastic through the central hole and knot it on the inside. It should fit snug when closed.
Add your inserts and dashboards.
